Using The Device

The Zmax V5 is a telescopic variable voltage & variable wattage vaping mod, It has one button, the firing button, press this rapidly 5 times to turn the device on and a further 3 times rapidly once on to enter the menu system, it has 9 Menu functions 1. Out - On / Off (this disables the output in case of accidental firing in your pocket / bag) 2. Power Up (to increase output power in watts or volts) 3. Power Down (to decrease output power in watts or volts) 4. Battery Voltage (Will give you the condition of the installed battery in volts) 5. LCD Display (this will control what the screen displays when you press the firing button in normal use) 6. LCD - On / Off (This will disable menu 5 features when you press the firing button in normal use - the screen will only come on when you enter the menu) 7. Power Voltage (This sets the output control, menu 2 & 3, to variable wattage or voltage) 8. RMS & Mean (This sets the output to be RMS or Mean voltage - RMS is recommended) 9. Mobile Power (this turns the output of the Zmax to be constantly on, do not do this with an atomizer attached to the device, Only turn this feature on when you have a USB output device fitted to the top of the Zmax)

Output

It has an output voltage range of 3.0V to 6.0V adjustable in 0.1v increments, a wattage range of 3.0W to 15.0W adjustable in 0.5w increments and a maximum output current of 5.0A, The manufacturer's minimum recommended resistance of the coil is 1.2 Ohm. The short circuit protection will kick in when you use coils lower that 1.2 Ohm.

Construction

The Zmax V5 has a medium weight to it and a fairly solid stainless steel construction, with good quality threading on the removable / telescopic parts, the device weighs in at 106g (around 3.7 Ounces) without batteries.

The Display

There is a white OLED display on the Zmax V5 that will give you battery condition and one the following (current output power, output current, coil resistance, puff counter) the options are set in Menu 5 for what displays when you press the firing button.

Battery Compatibility

The Zmax V5 mod is telescopic so you adjust the bottom part by unscrewing it so that it can take 1 x 18350 or 1 x 18500 or 1 x 18650 or 2 x 18350 batteries stacked, It has built in short circuit protection & a 10 second cut off in case it is firing in your pocket / bag.

The Lithium batteries used in e-cig devices and mods need to and can output exceedingly high currents and can empty themselves VERY fast in a short circuit, with some cells this may result in overheating, rupture of the cell and possibly even explosion, always discard a damaged or suspect device or battery unless a competent engineer can repair or give it the all clear to use.

Guidelines

1. NEVER leave batteries unattended when charging especially overnight while sleeping.
2. NEVER keep batteries loose in your pocket or bag where they could short circuit and cause a dangerous or explosive event. Use a suitable case or plastic battery holder.
3. NEVER place the charger on flammable surfaces when charging. (carpets, fabrics etc)
4. Don't heat, incinerate or reverse the polarity, always check polarity when charging or inserting into the device.
5. Do not over-charge or over-discharge. Remove from charge as soon as you get the green light or fully charged indication, check the instructions if unsure.
6. Use only the correct charger for the batteries, if you are uncertain check.
7. Only use recommended batteries and do not purchase or use cheap alternatives.
8. Discard a battery if it fails to keep a charge or looks damaged in any way.
9. Do not over-tighten atomisers / tanks onto the device, you only need to tighten until contact is made.
10. When charging batteries via USB do not over-tighten them in the charging lead.
11. Please dispose of batteries safely and according to the regulations.
