A Simplified Guide to Longfill E-Liquids

Longfill e-liquids are a growing trend in the UK, offering an affordable and customisable option for vapers. Here's an overview of what they are, how they work, and why they’re worth considering.

What Are Longfill E-Liquids?

Longfills are partially filled bottles of e-liquid concentrate, leaving room for you to add a base mixture and nicotine (if you choose to have any). Typically, a 60ml bottle can contain 10ml, 20ml or 30ml of flavour concentrate. Once the base and nicotine are added, you get a complete e-liquid tailored to your preferences.

This DIY approach lets you control the nicotine strength and VG/PG ratio. Most standard longfills often require precise calculations, which can be intimidating for beginners, so we've set up our longfills as handy kits to get you started. Simply select the nicotine type, strength, and VG/PG ratio of your choice on the product page, and we'll send you all the right ingredients to mix your perfect e-liquid with ease.

How do I choose which strength and VG/PG ratio I need?

We recommend 50/50 or Nic Salts for most MTL Devices and Pod Kits or for any coils that are higher than 0.4 Ohm.

For coils that are lower than 0.4 Ohm, we recommend a higher VG Ratio, such as 70/30.

It's good to bear in mind that there are two types of nicotine. Regular nicotine (also known as Freebase), provides a stronger throat hit and comes in 3mg, 6mg and 12mg. If you feel you'd prefer a smoother vape with less throat-hit, go with Nicotine Salts, available in 5mg, 10mg and 14mg.

How to Use Longfills

Longfill liquids are not designed to be vaped without mixing, that would be like drinking undiluted squash! Luckily, setting up your longfill is very simple.

  • Add the provided 10ml shots and the base mixture to the 60ml bottle.
  • Shake for a few minutes to mix thoroughly.
  • Optionally, you can let the e-liquid steep for a few days in a cool, dark place to enhance flavour.

While we offer the option to purchase the concentrate on its own, it is not recommended to vape without mixing it first. For beginners, we suggest choosing one of our kits, which includes the necessary ingredients to mix to your preferred strength.

Longfills vs. Shortfills & 10ml Bottles

Shortfills are pre-mixed e-liquids available in sizes like 50ml or 100ml, leaving space in the bottle for 1 or 2 Nic Shots. These liquids typically have a high VG ratio and are designed for sub-ohm vaping, offering a maximum nicotine strength of 3mg when mixed. They’re an excellent choice for vapers seeking a straightforward, ready-made solution.

10ml bottles come pre-mixed with nicotine in strengths ranging from 3mg to 20mg. Most feature a balanced 50VG/50PG ratio, making them perfect for smaller MTL devices and pod kits. They’re ideal for those who prefer higher nicotine strengths or need a simple, no-mixing-required option.

Longfills provide a DIY approach to e-liquids, containing only concentrated flavour with room to add your preferred base liquids and nicotine. This flexibility makes them highly cost-effective compared to purchasing multiple 10ml bottles. With the ability to fully customize both nicotine strength and VG/PG ratio, longfills are suitable for both MTL devices and sub-ohm setups.

  • Shortfills: Pre-mixed 0mg e-liquids with room for nicotine shots. Ready to vape without additional blending. Most are a higher VG ratio, making them better suited for higher-powered sub-ohm devices.
  • 10ml Bottles: Pre-mixed with nicotine. Balanced VG/PG, perfect for MTL devices, pod kits and higher nicotine needs.
  • Longfills: Contain only flavour concentrate, allowing complete control over the final blend. More cost-effective than buying 10ml bottles.

In Summary

Longfill e-liquids are an affordable and customisable option for vapers, offering full control over nicotine strength, VG/PG ratio, and flavour. These partially filled bottles contain concentrated e-liquid, with room for you to add base mixtures and nicotine shots. Designed for flexibility, longfills cater to both MTL and sub-ohm vaping preferences, making them a versatile choice. Unlike shortfills, which are ready to use with limited customisation, longfills require mixing but provide greater value and personalisation. With handy kits available, even beginners can easily create their perfect e-liquid blend.
