Pod kits come in many shapes and sizes, and a great natural progression from disposable vapes. Essentially, rather than having a traditional mod and tank, you have a battery and a pod that houses your coil and liquid. These are designed to be as convenient as possible, and come either pre-filled or are available as refillable devices.
Whichever pod kit you choose, they are super portable, convenient and user friendly. They require little to no maintenance, and are easy to set up and go.
Pre-Filled Pod Kits
Pre-filled devices are known as closed pod kits, such as the ‘Elf Bar Mate 500’. These require little to no maintenance aside from charging the device, and are designed with disposable pre-filled pods (bought separately). You simply replace the pod with a new one once it’s finished.
Most have nearly no settings, and are simply inhale activated. So to use, you simply inhale on the mouthpiece and away you go.
The only thing to consider with these kits is that you are limited on flavour options and nicotine strength.
Refillable Pod Kits
Another option is to go for a refillable pod kit. This allows you to refill your device with a flavour and nicotine strength of your choosing. If you choose to go this route, you can either buy pods that have their coils built in (such as the Uwell Caliburn A2 or Smok Novo X), or a pod that has easy replaceable coils (such as the VooPoo Vinci 2 or Smok Nord 50w). Again, there are advantages and disadvantages to both. With a kit that uses built in coils, you are discarding the entire pod every time it dies. Whereas, with replaceable coils, you simply remove the dead coil, and replace it with a new one. This isn’t as complicated as it may sound, as most pod devices with replaceable coils have a ‘push fit’ system, which means the coils simply pull out and push in with ease and little to no mess.
