Some devices have a battery built in, and are charged via USB cable. However, a lot of devices also have removable batteries. There are a few different battery sizes depending on what device you’re using, the size you need will be listed on the product page of our website, or on the packaging of your device.
The most commonly used battery size is an ‘18650’, however there are other sizes such as ‘18350’ and ‘21700’. As well as the size of your batteries, you will find a mAh rating and an Amp rating. The mAh will indicate how much capacity the cell has and the Amp rating will tell you how much power it can safely discharge at once. These two ratings go hand in hand, with large capacity cells being able to output less amps and vice versa.
The benefit to having a kit with an external battery, is that they are easily replaceable. Batteries in any device degrade over time and use, and so eventually, they will die. When this happens with a built-in battery device, it’s time for a new kit. But having removable batteries means you can remove and recycle the old ones, and pop some new ones in there to keep your vape going for longer.
Check if your kit requires external batteries or if the battery is built in before you purchase a new kit. Most kits will use batteries in 3 different sizes, 18350, 18650 and 21700. The specific battery size you need will be shown on the product page, or if it is a built in battery, it will display the battery capacity in ‘mAh’.
